CHINESE ATTACKS

(Received This Day, 10.25 a.m.) LONDON, July 25. “The Times” Hong Kong correspondent says the Chinese penetrated Sunwui and Tsengshing and withdrew after conflicts. The Chinese allege that their troops entering Tenghai found a school filled with a hundred headless bodies, including those of women. The Japanese Consul-General denies this allegation. The Japanese intend to close the Canton River and to blockade Shameen. The British steamer Haitan struck a mine between Swatow and Formosa. The explosion tore a hql.e in her side and flooded a hold.
