Vancouver. —-Objects of particular interest to British visitors at the town of Esquirhalt, on Vancouver Island. are the gnarled oak trees which, it is claimed, were planted by Sir Francis Drake in keeping with the Elizabethan seamen’s custom of assuring a supply' of oak for future English ships.
