DIGGERS’ MUSIC HALL
OPERA HOUSE TOMORROW. The Diggers’ Music Hall which will be presented at the Opera House tomorrow is attracting great interest in Masterton and the surrounding districts. The booking so far is very heavy, though there are still a number of good seats available in the Orchestral stalls. The entertainment will be varied in character, but one object is kept steadily in view throughout the whole performance, that of furnishing the audience with material for a good laugh. That most popular entertainer, Mr Harry Hall, will provide ten minutes of humour, and the comedy team will put on a number of short sketches with the sting in the tail. In the “Estaminet Scene” which forms the second half of the programme the present quickened interest in things military will find an adequate outlet. Diggers will recognise the estaminet setting, and the old familiar choruses will bring back memories of twenty years ago. The soloists in the Estaminet Scene are Messrs Ron Gilbert, Wm. C. Mann and Pat Hancock; while bagpipes and mouth organs supply the instrumental side. Masterton audiences will welcome the opportunity of again hearing Messrs C. A. Clement and L. Dilnot Wales. Jack Barnes’s Rhythm Boys will play music in the hall from 7.30 o’clock onwards. The entertainment promises to be "merry and bright” from the time the RhythmBoys tune up till the final fall of the curtain. The box plans are at Mr W. G. Perry's, Queen Street.
