ORDER OF ODD FELLOWS LOYAL HEART OF OAK LODGE. (“Times-Age” Special.) The fortnightly meeting of Loyal Heart of Oak Lodge of Odd Fellows was held last evening, P.G. Bro. C. E. White presiding over a fail’ attendance of members. Sick pay amounting to £l5 16s 8d was passed for payment. A vote of condolence was passed with the families of Bros. H. A. Bick and R. H. Fog'den who died recently. Two members declared off the sick benefit fund of the lodge and progress reports regarding other members were received. A past officer was proposed for the Purple Degree and lecture at the annual meeting of the Past Grand’s Lodge to be held on Thursday evening next. It was decided to invite Loyal Unity Lodge to a card tournament on Monday, August 21. .. A funeral benefit was ordered to be paid to a widow. BOROUGH COUNCIL MEETING TONIGHT. The monthly meeting of the Carterton Borough Council will be held in the Borough Chambers tonight at 7.30 o’clock. STREET LIGHTING ERECTION OF VAPOUR LAMPS. A start has been made by the Wairarapa Power Board workmen to instal the seven mercury .vapour lamps in High Street. The work should be completed before the weekend. MINIATURE RIFLES CUP WON BY MISS J. BRASH. The Miniature Cup donated by the Wairarapa Miniature Rifle Association at Saturday’s championship meeting for the lady shooter scoring most aggregate points in all matches was won by Miss Jean Brash, of the Featherston Club. Wairarapa will fire an inter-associa-tion match against Bush District at. Carterton on Saturday evening next. The Wairarapa team will be published tomorrow. Golf. The best cards handed in on Saturday by lady members of the Carterton Golf Club were:—Mrs R. Campbell 77, and Miss Smart 70, 147; Mrs Ross 70 and Mrs Moroney 78, 148; Mrs Harrington 75 and Miss Anderson 73, 148.
