CANTERBURY MARKETS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH. This Day. There is still no sign of the local potato market weakening, the prices quoted to growers being £l4 to £l5. Only one boat has loaded potatoes at Lyttelton for the north last week. This was the Waiana, which was due to sail last night after being delayed by the bad weather. Her cargo was an exceptionally large one—about 11,600 sacks, 5100 of which were loaded at Timaru and 6500 at Lyttelton. Chaff weakened early last week to £4 5s a ton, and is still quoted at that price. The onion market is firm at £l6 to growers. Following are the quotations, prices named being to farmers on trucks at country sidings, unless otherwise indicated:— Wheat.—Milling, f.0.b., Tuscan 5s lOd; Hunters, 6s; Pearl. 6s 2d. (Final payment of 3d a bushel on all wheat at the end of year.) Oats.—A Gartons, 2s 7d to 2s 3d; B Gartons, 2s 4d; Algerians, 3s to 3s 6d; Duns, 3s 6d to 4s 6d. Ryegrass (good germination).—Perennial up to 5s 6d (nominal). Italian, up to 4s to 4s 6d (nominal). Cocksfoot.—6d to 7d (nominal). White Clover.—ls to Is 3d per lb. Red Clover. —Old season's, 4d to 6d per lb.; new season’s, 7d. Potatoes. —£14 for prompt, £l5 for August. . Onions.—£l6. Chaff. —£4 5s a ton. | Barley.—Malting, 4s 7Ad; feed, 3s to 3s 6d a bushel, according to quality. Bran. —Large, £4 15s; small, £5 ss. Pollard. —Large, £6 5s a ton; small. £6 15s. '
