WRESTLING
BOESCH v CLARKE. Paul Boesch’s ability to attract wrestling crowds is even greater this season than it was in 1936. He has been packing the halls wherever he has gone and turning on the kind of displays that will cause them to come again. Speed, spectacle and science all figure in Boesch’s displays and the manner in which he can maintain a hot pace from start to finish is nothing short of amazing. His opponent’s second name is ."Razzler” and it fits Clarke, who is powerfully built and who has been described as a human tornado. There are thrills every minute he is in the ring. The clash tomorrow night should not be missed. The house plan is filling rapidly and Wairarapa patrons would be well advised to book their seats. The Wairarapa Association has arranged a match' between Jim Dryden, New Zealand heavyweight champion, and Stan. Williams, the Otago heavyweight champion, for a 5-round contest. Dryden gets very few chances of showing his paces and this will be a good opportunity to see him extended in the ring. Patrons will see action. Other lighter weight amateur preliminaries will complete a big programme. South Wairarapa patrons may book seats at Colson's Book Shop. Carterton. The Masterton office is at Orange’s. Queen Street. Masterton.
The amateur preliminaries will be: R. Sutherland (Masterton) 11.0 v R. McGlashan (Eketahuna), 10.9; R. Edwards (Masterton) 10.4 v P. Simmonds (Featherston) 10.1: J. Dryden (Featherston) 17.6 v S. Williams (Wellington) 16.0.
