The “Herald'’ points out that Homeric, who recently fractured a leg, was the third son of Quadrilateral to break a leg. His full brother Homer met with his accident a few days after dead heating in the A.J.C. Derby, and his half brother, Rob Roy. broke a leg during a training gallop at Melbourne but was saved for the stud. Homeric, who cost 1900 guineas, was not insured.
