LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

MONTHLY MEETING OF MEMBERS.

(“Times-Age” Special.)

The monthly meeting of the League of Mothers was held in the Parish Hall on Thursday afternoon, when Mrs Arch. Clark presided over a good attendance. There were several apalagies for absence. Mrs Clark introduced Mrs White, Dominion President of the League of Mothers, who initiated seven new members and gave a short but interesting talk on a visit paid to Lady Alice Ferguson, in Scotland, Lady Alice being the founder of the New Zealand League. The speaker for the afternoon was Mrs Peter Fraser, of Wellington, whose interesting address on women pioneers of New Zealand was listened to with great interest. Mrs McVicar, who accompanied Mrs Fraser, spoke briefly on the Technical College at Wellington. Both speakers were accorded hearty votes of thanks. The tea hostesses were Mesdames Ruane, Wenden, W. Willis and R. Watson. Personal. Mr and Mrs Ron. McKenzie and family. of Ballance, are weekend visitors to Featherston and are the guests of Mr J. W. Card, “Awahou.”
