STATEMENT DENIED
REFERENCE TO WAIRARAPA AERO CLUB. AT COUNTY COUNCIL MEETING. ("Times-Age” Special.) “I desire briefly to mention the matter of a discussion at last council meeting relative to donations in general and what was reported with reference to the Wairarapa and Ruahine Aero Club,” said Councillor F. W. Joblin, at yesterday's meeting of the Wairarapa South County Council. One Wairarapa paper correctly reported me. but the ‘Wairarapa Times-Age was incorrect in crediting me with saying It’s only a social club anyhow.’ "When this report was brought to my notice. I wrote to the secretary stating that I was misreported by one paper and correctly by the other. Since publication of the report. I have read the published statement of the club secretary. Mr Gray, in which he makes it clear that the social activities of the club are entirely separate and distinct from the flying activities, and are controlled by a Social and Club-house Committee. I was pleased to sec the point made quite clear by Mr Gray.' Notice to rescind the motion: "That no donation be granted the Wairarapa and Ruahine Aero Club" was given by Councillor A. Reid.
