WEDDING

♦ WILSON—VALLANCE. Masses of hydrangea and camelias in toning shades of pink intermingled with graceful greenery formed a beautiful setting for the marriage, which took place at St. Matthew’s Church, Masterton, yesterday afternoon, of Beverley Anne, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs F. B. Vallance, “Kahumingi” and Quinton, second son of Mr and Mrs Hamish Wilson, of Bulls. The Rev. E. J. Rich performed the ceremony and Mr Miller Hope presided at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, looked charming in a pearl satin gown, cut on. slim-fitting lines, trimmed with satin leaves embossed with silver, and with a beautiful circular veil. She also carried a sheaf of white lilies. The five bridesmaids were frocked in rose geranium velvet, of period style, with full skirts and high cut sleeves. They all carried bouquets to tone and wore sprays of flowers in their hair. Mrs Harold McKenzie was Matron of Honour, and Misses Levin (Feilding), Mary Vallance (Masterton), Wilson (Rangitikei) sister of the bridegroom, and Mary Maunsell (Masterton) the ’maids. The best man was Mr Hamish Wilson, and Messrs Dan Ormond (Hawke’s Bay), Jock McKenzie (Hawke's Bay), Dan Vallance and Norman Parsons (Rangitikei) acted as groomsmen. Mr D. Herrick was usher at the church. Mrs Skeet was responsible for the church decorations. The reception was held at “Kahumingi” where the four hundred guests were received by Mrs F. B. Vallance, gowned in deep red velvet, and fur, with a beige hat and posy to tone. She was assisted by Mrs H. Wilson, who was gracefully attired in a black ensemble with hat to match. The reception room was beautifully decorated with a profusion of hydrangea by Mrs Burch. Guests were present from all parts of New Zealand.
