MR NASH’S MISSION
CORRECTION OF EARLIER REPORT ONLY STATEMENT POSTPONED. NEGOTIATIONS PROGRESSING. By Telegraph—Pi ess Association —Copyright. LONDON, July 18. The New Zealand Minister of Finance, Mr Nash, did not state that his negotiations were indefinitely postponed, but merely that his statement on them was postponed. The “Financial News” says that the negotiations between Mr Nash and the Governor of the Bank of England, Mr Montagu Norman, are progressing satisfactorily. It appears that both sides have compromised and the discussions are now reduced to a question of details. There is no decision as to when the long-awaited statement will be issued. A message from London published on Monday stated: “The New Zealand Minister of Finance, Mr Nash, in a statement today (July 15) said that his negotiations have been indefinitely postponed. It is understood that New Zealand made counter-proposals to the British offer.” EARLY STATEMENT EXPECTED. (Independent Cable Service.) LONDON, July 18. It is understood that a statement is likely to be made by Mr Nash today.
