The Colombo correspondent of “The Times" says passengers testify to the crew’s calmness during the Narkunda incident. Their devotion to duty allayed fears. Many mailbags were soaked and seventy were damaged. Eight of those injured have been discharged from hospital. Miss Meace, who was near the hold at the time of the explosion, was knocked down and injured.
