MINER KILLED
TRAGEDY AT BLACKBALL. (By Telegranh—Press Association.) GREYMOUTH, July 16. Believed to have swallowed a detonator attached to a length of lighted fuse, Frank Smith, aged 51, married, of Blackball, a miner, was killed today at 11 a.m. in the bush about 100 yards off Harper Street. Blackball. Smith was a returned soldier and had been for some time under medical care and was recently in hospital.
