MASTERTON CLUB

GOOD TIMES RECORDED.

NEW ZEALAND RECORD BROKEN

The Masterton Model Aero Club held a flying meeting at the Polo Grounds. Te Ore Ore, over the weekend. Condi tion were very favourable and soms good times were recorded in the Gar Model Section.

F. P. Blatchford recorded nine flights in the Consistency Event with his T.D Coupe, bringing his total number o! flights in this event to sixteen wit! only one minor accident. This mode] turned in many fine flights during the afternoon and clocked at 51, 55 2-5, 61 4 5 and 70sec in the 30sec motor run event.

The Chester "Jeep” racer and Curtiss Robin built by Messrs H. L. Cornish and' W. R. Perry respectively, were flown by Messrs N. Churchouse and L Tozer, who have repaired these mach ines and powered them with new motors. L. Tozer turned in manj flights with the Curtiss Robin, the two most outstanding being 4min 30sec and smin 27 2 ssec on a half tank of fuel.

Unfortunately the Chester Jeep flown by N. Churchouse had a tendency to stall and after several tests damaged a wing. However, it is hoped to see it in the air in the near future W. G. Perry experienced considerable motor trouble with his machine but recorded two flights, one of these clocking at 51 2 ssec on a 30sec motor run.

H. Fulton was present on the field with his sailplane which put up some excellent times in the 200 ft Towline Class. His times were Imin 37secs. Imin 41sec and 2min 3sec. The latter time is a New Zealand record for this class and providing this is passed by .the N.Z.M.A.A. H. Fulton will be the holder of both N.Z. records, having broken the 100 ft class at the Easter contest.

Messrs A. Carmine and G. Lyttle flew their Redbird Junior rubber powered fuselage models on some fine flights but unfortunately these were not officially timed. Flights recorded in the Consistency’ Event were as follow:—H. P. Blatch ■ ford 9. L. Tozer 4, W. G. Perry 1.
