MASTERTON GUN CLUB

R. WALKER WINS SMITH ROSE BOWL.

The Masterton Gun Club held another successful shoot during the weekend, when a good muster of shooters and friends was present to witness the final for the H. K. Smith Rose Bowl for B grade shooters. The trophy was won by R. Walker, a firstyear shooter and a member of both the Carterton and Masterton clubs.

In presenting the trophy, the president. Mr R. J. King, congratulated the winner and the runner-up on their fine performances. Mr King also expressed the indebtedness of the club to the donor. Mr H. K. Smith, for his generous contribution in the interests of trap shooting. The following are the scores: — A grade; C. E. Grey (18) 17; H. K. Smith (18) 17; G. Brotherton (18). 15; T. Skipage (18). 15; W. Anderson (18) 15; W. H. Saunders (18) 14; J. Gallagher (18) 14; A. Macalister (18) 14. B grade: R. Williams (12) 18; R. Walker (14) 16; S. M. Baird (12) 15; R. W. Fuge (12) 15; W. Maroney (14) 14; L. Ravner (12) 14; A. Teal (12) 14; F. E. Allen. L. Meredith, T. A. Brown. G. Vincent, R. Cameron all shot 13.

Yankee shoot: C. E. Grey and H. Swanson shot all their clays in this match. Several others lost one.

There will possibly be a final practice before the North Island championships. which are taking place on the club’s grounds this year, commencing on July 31.
