AUSTRALIANS IN HAWAII.

In the open water regatta half-mile event Nakama overcame Biddulph’s lead at the three-quarter mark and won by twenty yards. Time, 12 minutes 40£ seconds. Peter Powlison (Honolulu) was third, Hirosi (Maui) fourth and Pirie (Canada) fifth.
Jack May (Honolulu) won the halfmile surfboard race with Russel, thirty yards behind, second, and Chapple third.
The Australians won the surfboat race of three-quarters of a mile from the local creew by a twenty yards’ margin.
In the four-main one-mile surfboard relay race, the Australians overcame a seemingly insurmountable lead and won by forty yards from two local teams. The relay team was Chapple, Borman. Morath and Russell.
