WAIRARAPA CLUB'S MEETING.
MAIDEN AND OPEN STAKES.
On Saturday afternoon under beautiful weather conditions another very successful meeting was held before a moderate attendance by the Wairarapa Coursing Club. Splendid coursing was in evidence during the afternoon. the hares thoroughly extending the dogs, thus enabling some brilliant exchanges to be witnessed.
Mr F. Riding, of Wanganui, was thc successful winning owner in thc Maiden with Mungi Taipo. who led up decisively in all his courses, defeating that consistent dog, The Trump, owned by Mr J. Hare, of Masterton, in the final.
The Open Stake, though small in numbers, was a real classic, the suc--1 cessful owner being Mr W. Spring, of Masterton. with Julius Caesar, a very promising son of Rereatu. This puppy outclassed Dainty Footsteps in the final, although allowances must be made for his opponent having had two undecided runs in the previous round.
