OBITUARY
MR JOHN TAYLFORTH. The death occurred in Masterton today of Mr John Taylforth. Born in Accrington. Yorkshire, 77 years ago. the late Mr Taylforth came to New Zealand 52 years ago and settled at .Kaituna. Taking up a bush farm he broke it in and developed it. He took a keen interest in the development of the district and was a member of the school committee for a number of years. He was of a quiet and retiring nature but was always ever ready to give assistance to those in need. His wife predeceased hinh 6 years ago. He married a second time. He leaves a widow, Mrs J. Taylforth, of 12 Michael Street. Masterton, five daughters and four sons. The daughters are: Mcsdames Shaw (Christchurch). J. Burrell (Christchurch), S. Munn (Masterton), W. Perry (Upper Hutt). E. Rayner (Carterton). Messrs R. Taylforth (Masterton), Percy (Kopaki, King Country), Joseph (Kaponga, Tctianakl), and James Taylforth (Carte rton) are sons. There are 26 grandchildren. The funeral will lake place on Friday afternoon at 2.15 o’clock.
