FEUD IN PHILIPPINES
THREE PROMINENT MEN SHOT DEAD CLASH BETWEEN OPPOSED GROUPS. POLICE SEEKING TWO PLANTERS. (Received This Day, 1.25 p.m.) MANILA, July 12. Three prominent Filipinos were shot dead in an outbreak of a long-standing feud between sugar mill operators and planters during a conference of the two groups. The dead are Jose Deleon, the world’s wealthiest Filipino, a leading sugar operator; his associate, Augusto Gonzales and Julian Olivas. Captain of the State Constabulary. The police arc searching -or two planters.
