Mr Rasmussen, who has been on the staff of the Featherston Co op Dairy Co for the past eleven years has taken over the carrying business previously conducted by Mr Brophy. Mr Rasmussen has also been a prominent member of the South Featherston Miniature Rifle Club, having been captain on two occasions, including the present year. Mr Rasmussen has at different times won all the major club trophies as well as the Association Cup. Mrs Rasmussen and also their two sons. The South Featherston Club may be considered fortunate in retaining their services at least until the close of the present season.
Mr P. A. Wilton spoke in eugolistic terms of the service rendered the district by Mr and Mrs Rasmussen and al though they would not be far away he felt that the residents of the district could not let them go without showing appreciation of their good work. Mrs Arch Clark then presented Mrs Rasmussen with a tea waggon on behalf of the Home and School Association, while Mr Wilton asked Mr Rasmussen to accept a silver tea-service on behalf of the school committee.
Mr and Mrs Rasmussen suitably replied. Items were rendered by Misses Gain (2) and Rasmussen and by the Thorn twins.
Dancing and euchre was followed- by a very dainty supper served by the Home arid School Association ladies. The euchre prizes were won by Mrs Rasmussen and Mr G. Cuff.
The gathering was brought to a close with the singing of "For They Are Jolly Good Fellows” and “Auld Lang Syne.”
