As a result of a terrific explosion in a powder magazine at I’enaranda de Brneanionte. Salamanca Province. Spain, the entire population of 5000 have been evacuated and are camping in the eotin--1 rvsi.de.

Thirty people are known to have been killed and 200 injured by the ex plosion. Firemen from a dozen cities, including Madrid, 100 miles distant, arc fight ing to save the town from the flames. The force of the explosion was felt over a radius of 30 miles. People in a neighbouring town were injured. There was no trace of civil guards or railway officials at the station who were near the powder magazine at the time of the explosion. Similarly an entire train with its passengers and crew approaching the station completely disappeared. EIGHTY-SIX KILLED MORE THAN THREE HUNDRED INJURED. PORTIONS OF TRAIN FOUND A MILE AWAY. (Received This Day. 9.25 a.m.) MADRID. July 10. In the explosion of the powder magazine at Penaranda de Bracamonte, in the Salamanca Province, 86 persons were killed and 320 injured. Portions of a train carrying passengers and a crew were found a mile away.
