BUTTER PRODUCTION

MASTERTON DAIRY COMPANY'S

MANUFACTURE. PROGRESS PAYMENT MADE. At the last meeting of directors of the Masterton Co-operative Dairy Co it was decided to make a progress payment of Id per lb butterfat from July 1, 1938. to June 30. 1939: also an extra 2d per lb butterfat on July and August supplies and Id on September. 1938. which will bring the net payment at the moment to Is 3d per lb butterfat. The directors will be making a final payment after the balance sheet has been completed and presented for their consideration.

The manager reported that the total manufacture for the year ending June 30 was 912.8 tons, as compared with 1076 tons for the previous year, a decrease of 164 tons. The decrease, it was pointed out. was due to the very severe drought experienced in the Wairarapa in the first three months of this year.
