DEATH SENTENCE DEMANDED IN SPAIN.

A former Speaker, Julian Besteiro, moderate Socialist leader, was courtmartialled on a charge of rebellion. The prosecutor demanded the death penalty. Sentence will be promulgated later.
This is a test case, reflecting the whole position of political responsibility in Spain.
