DRAMA LEAGUE
SEVENTH ANNUAL FESTIVAL.
JUNIOR & SENIOR SECTIONS.
That the seventh annual drama festival has attracted a record entry is a tribute to the work that is being done in the Wairarapa by the Drama League. Since its inception the League has had most successful festivals and has been very generously supported by the public. The senior festival on Monday and Tuesday, July 17 and 18. shotdd reach a higher standard than ever before.
The plays are new to the public and of a high literary standard. The producers are experienced and the players enthusiastic. On the whole comedy predominates, varied by the Savage Club’s powerful tragedy, the Wairarapa College's thoughtfully serious play and one of the two Pahiatua plays. Miss B. Coleman's "Bring Me My Bow," a pacifist play by Sydney Box. should prove exceedingly interesting. The St Matthew’s School Old Girls' presentation is always a favourite and the producer, Mrs E. J. Rich, has again chosen a charming costume play.
Patrons are advised to book early. The League has no difficulty in filling the Opera House for the festival: booking is free at Mr Vivian Joseph's. Queen Street.
