DIAMOND JUBILEE
——■ —♦— CARTERTON RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB PROCESSION THIS AFTERNOON MATCHES AT SHOWGROUNDS. (“Times-Age” Special.) Memories of days long past were vividly recalled at Carterton this afternoon when a procession of old timers ana present day players kicked off for the Carterton Rugby Football Club’s Diamond jubilee. The procession, accompanied by two Bands and watched by a large crowd of onlookers marched from Holloway Street to the Showgrounds. At the showgrounds the attractions are a game between Carterton and Greytown seniors for the Reid' Jubilee Cup. Other grades are also catered for, Carterton juniors playing Martinbcrough. while Carterton thirds met Featherston. The mach between the Carterton and Greytown teams, which was sei down for this morning, was postponed. Tonight many games will be replayed at a Smoke Concert to be held in the P. and A. Tea Koisk, while tomorrow a church parade to the various churches will take place frorn Memorial Square. The celebrations will be brought to a close on Monday night with a grand jubilee ball in the King’s Theatre.
