FIRST IN WORLD STARTS IN PHILADELPHIA LANDING ON POST OFFICE ROOF. MANY SIMILAR SERVICES LIKELY. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright PHILADELPHIA. July 7. The world’s first autogiro airmail service will be inaugurated today when a machine will land on the roof of the post office in the heart of Philadelphia. It will fly the six miles to the central airport in six minutes, compared with 40 minutes required by motor-vans. It is predicted that the service will be the forerunner of post office-to-air-port mail services in all United States cities wi/h motor traffic problems.
