Mr and Mrs G. G. Tolhurst and family, of Cole Street, are to leave Masterton on Monday on a visit to Haw.ke’s Bay. On his return from the United States of America, where he competed in the American open golf championship at Philadelphia, Norman Von Nida, Australian professional golfer, was a through passenger for Australia on the Mariposa, which arrived at Auckland from San Francisco. Von Nida will return to New Zealand for the Centennial open championship at Wellington. At the annual meeting of delegates of the New Zealand Racing and Jockey Clubs, the following office-bearers were all re-elected without opposition: —President, Mr J. S. McLeod; vicepresident, Mr A. S. Elworthy; executive committee, Messrs W. Claud Motion (Auckland), D. E. Wanklyn (Canterbury), A. C. Hanlon, K.C. (Duhedin), T. E. Coates (Greymouth), W. T. Hazlett (Southland), G. D. Beatson (Hawke's Bay), J. H. Perrett (Wanganui), C. W. Tringham (Wellington), the Hon. J. McLeod. M.L.C. (Taranaki).
