LONDON QUOTATIONS LAMB MARKET VERY FIRM. MUTTON PRICES STEADY. Lamb market: Continues very firm, with consumption good. Prices generally are higher. Mutton market: Wethers and ewes, fair trade, with prices steady. Beef market: Frozen beef meeting with fair trade; chilled beef, hindquarters steady, fores shade easier on the warm weather. New Zealand porker pigs: Market firm, but trade slow. New Zealand baconer pigs: Shade firmer, owing to higher prices Continental bacon. Boneless bobby veal: Trade slow, but prices firm owing to shortage of supplies. The above report was received yesterday by the Meat Board from its

Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from their | London agents, dated July 6: —Frozen meat quotations (prices on a “delivered” basis, i.e., including storage charges, cartage, market tolls, etc.): — North Island Down lambs, 28/361b5., 7gd, 36/421b5., 6-Jd; best North Island xbd. lambs, 28/361bs„ 7gd, 36/421b5., 63d; North Island 2nd quality lambs, av. 30/311bs„ 7d; best North Island wether sheep, under 481bs„ 4Jd, 48/56 lbs., 4Jd, 56/641bs„ 4d, 64/721b5., 3id; North Island ewes, under 481b5., 33d, 48'56's, 3gd, 56/64’s, 3d, 64/72’s, 33d; N.Z. prime ox beef, 160/220, none offering. Compared with last week’s quotations, all grades of lamb were id per lb. higher, wethers 48/641bs. Jd per lb. higher; others unchanged. The market is firm.
