MARTINBOROUGH
RADIO TRANSMITTERS SUCCESSFUL DANCE. (“Times-Age” Special.) Although inclement weather ' prevailed the Matinborough branch of the New Zealand Association of Radio Transmitters held a very successful dance on Thursday night. Visitors were present from various other Wairarapa towns. The Hall was decorated with the club colours black and gold, the walls being done with black receptacles which were filled with greenery and gold flowers and streamers in black and gold were draped in between. At both ends of the stage two big masts stood with the letters “N.Z.A.R.T.” hung between, and also Radio Club signs. Along the front of the stage were black and gold streamers and greenery. The supper room looked quite effective with bowls of hydrangeas, and the tables were decorated with Iceland poppies. Udy’s Orchestra supplied popular music. Balloons and streamers were an added attraction to the gaiety of the evening. The winners of the novelty dances were Mr and Mrs N. Thomas (Lucky Number), and Miss Graham and partner (Monte Carlo).
