CARD TOURNAMENT GATHERING AT RONGOMAI. The fortnightly card tournament was held in the Rongomai school on Saturday night. Mr J. Reid was in charge of the cards, and after supper the floor was cleared for dancing. The card winners were: Ladies, Mrs L. Eagle 1, Mrs Jim Evans, 2. Men. Mr F. Evans. 1; Mr W. Evans. 2. Novelty prizes were won by Mrs W. Evans and Mr A. Judd. The winners for the previous evening were: Ladies, Mrs J. Davie. 1; and Mrs Jim Evans 2; Men. Mr John Evans I. and Mr L. Eagle, 2. The novelty prizes were won by Mis Gustofsen and Mr Jim Evans. VITAL STATISTICS FIGURES FOR HALF YEAR. The vital statistics for Eketahuna for the half year ended June 30. are as follows: —Births 36, deaths 6, marriages 9. Personal Items. Mr R. F. Evans is on holiday in Wellington. Mr W. Morrison, who has been visiting Hamilton, has returned home.
