ST. MATTHEW’S BIBLE CLASS
ANNUAL' dance. GAY AND ANIMATED SCENE. The Parish Hall, specially decorated for the occasion, presented a gay and animated scene on Saturday night when a record number joined in the annual dance of St Matthew’s Bible Class. Mr P. Parsons acted as M.C. and was ably assisted by the committee. The dance was a particularly bright and happy affair without a dull moment. Excellent music was supplied by Mr Mills’s Orchestra, and extras by Mr Tooby’s accordion and mouthorgan band. In the course of the evening the Vicar, the Rev E. J. Rich, welcomed the visitors, congratulated the Bible Class on the excellent organisation which had resulted in such a happy evening, and thanked the ladies’ committee, consisting of Mesdames Judd, Heckler and Wagg,. which 'was in charge of the supper. The joint-secretaries of the Bible classes, Miss Joan Wylie and Mr Peter Parsons, were assisted in the organisation of the dance by the following committee: —Misses Helen Wagg, Nancy Burling, Patricia Ramsay, Noela Heckler, Ngaire Richards, Messrs William Lee, Napier Dingwell, Fred Parsons and Russell Towns.
