BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION RESULTS OF GAMES. (“Times-Age” Special.) The following are the results of the senior games played this week: —Konini 26 v. Stars B 7; Tuis 29 v. Hukanui 5; Eketahuna 18 v. Mangamaire 6. The following are the senior fixtures for Monday night:—Eketahuna v. Stars B, 6.30 p.m.; Tuis v. Mangamaire, 7.30 p.m.; Konini v. Stars A, 8.30 p.m.; Hukanui, a bye. The senior games to have been played in the Drill Hall tonight have been postponed. Footballers to Train. The following players are asked to meet at Rugby Park on Sunday at 2 p.m. for training:—Backs: Lett, Elliott, Staples, Stevenson, Hunt, Harris, W. Twentyman, R. Murch, S. Wolland and R. Johnston. Forwards: Bailey, T. Verry, Upston, Rosyth, B. Smith, Fergus. Fallaver, R. Welsh, M. Wilkins, C. Brown and Fafeita. Gift Evening. There was a large attendance at the Nireaha Hall when a gift evening was tendered to Miss Alison Butler. At the supper adjournment, Mrs Petersen, in a neat speech, asked Miss Butler to accept the many useful presents displayed, and wished her every happiness in the future. Mr R. Farrow then presented Miss Butler with a beautiful sandwich tray on behalf of the Nireaha hockey girls. Mr Gibson suitably replied on behalf of Miss Butler. Master Edwin Hansen made the presentation of a beautiful bouquet made and given by Mrs H. Nordell. Musical honours were accorded Miss Butler and Mr Gibson. Music for the dancing was supplied by Drysdale’s orchestra, while extras were contributed by Miss Nancy Drysdale and Mr Niederer (accordion). -Messrs Allen Holloway and Colin Hansen acted as M.’sC. A novelty dance held during the evening was won by Mr A. Hansen and Mrs Hawkins. A. euchre tournament during the early part of the evening, was supervised by Mi’ M. Eagle, the winners were: —Ladies: Mrs Petersen, 1; Mrs Hawkins, 2. Men: Mr Petersen, 1; Mr Butler, 2. Competition Result. The competition held in aid of the funds of the Nireaha Social Committee was won by Mr W. Davidson. Personal Items. Mr E. Francois, of the Wakefield (Nelson) Post Office, has taken up duty at the Eketahuna Post Office in succession to Mr O. G. Reynolds. Mr J. Cooper, of Rotorua, and formerly a Newman resident, is visiting this district.
