ENJOYABLE GATHERING
AT MASTERTON HOSPITAL. STUDENT NURSES ENTERTAIN. Japanese lanterns, rainbow-hued lights, balloons and Japonica on Monday night completely transformed the Nurses’ Home when the student nurses entertained about fifty guests at a dance in honour of those who recently sat for their State Final Examination. The guests were received by Matron Bafnitt, "assisted by-Sister Patersdn and Miss Noel Pearson, president of the Student Nurses’ Association. Matron Barnitt was dressed in a Queen Mary blue frock cut on graceful lines with a black and white velvet coatee. She wore a shoulder spray of carnations. A posy of cyclamen, carnations and freezias was presented to her by the nurses. Sister Paterson wore old gold silk marocain with a shoulder spray of forget-me-not blue. Miss Noel Pearson wore a Shaded blue taffeta. A. delicious supper supplied by the nurses was -fully appreciated by the guests. Excellent music was supplied by McKay’s Orchestra. During the evening Matron Barnitt asked Dr Forsyth to present Nurses Brann, Thom, Holmes and Harkness with their Hospital Final Certificates. This was carried out amid applause.
