INDOOR BOWLS
PAIRS COMPETITION. JANSEN AND STAINS IN LEAD. The Masterton Indoor Bowling Club played further games in the pairs section this week. The leaders in the A section, Jansen and Stains (s), scoied another win. making their total seven wins with two games to play. The B section at present lies between Edwards (s) and Roff (s). The following are the results of this week’s games:—Lewis 13 beat Wenham 12; Grantham 11 beat Ferguson 9: Moore 13 beat Wilder 12; Walker 12 beat Pickering 10; Joyce 15 beat Finlayson 7; Leigh 15 beat Finlayson 9; Pickering 16 beat Nuttall 14; Stains 16 beat Moore 10; Roff 18 beat Ferguson 13; Edwards 14 beat Fenton 11; Hendry 16 beat Dixon 14. In a challenge for the Park Ferns the holders, McFarlane and Roff (s> lost to Reed and Hendry. On Wednesday the club entertained four rinks from Carterton. The Carterton rinks put up a very creditable performance, as this was their first experience of the indoor game. The Masterton members voted this the best evening the club had enjoyed.
