ANOTHER OUTBREAK
FOLLOWING ON BIG BLAZE IN LONDON UPPER FLOORS OF FACTORY DESTROYED. FIRE BELIEVED TO BE DUE TO GAS EXPLOSIONS. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. LONDON. June 28. Firemen who had worked all night at the Barbican fire were called this morning to a chocolate factory in Islington, where an outbreak destroyed the upper floors. Three loud explosions drove the nearby residents from their homes. At first it was feared to be a bomb outrage, but later it was believed to be due to a gas explosion. The “Daily Mail” suggests that arson by the Irish Republican. Army is responsible for the Barbican fire, which was the biggest since the Cripplegate fire in 1897. THIRD BLAZE i FIVE-STOREY WAREHOUSE DESTROYED. NEIGHBOURING BUILDINGS SAVED. (Received This Day. 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, June 28. Another big fire in the city danger zone occurred this afternoon in a fivestorey warehouse in Upper Thames Street. The flames spread with amazing rapidity and the firemen were forced to concentrate on saving neighbouring buildings.
