PADDY’S MARKET
SUCCESSFUL LANSDOWNE SCHOOL EFFORT. SUM OF OVER £32 RAISED. Steady business throughout the day was recorded yesterday at the Paddy’s Market held in the Occidental Auction Mart by the Lansdowne School Parents’ Association, the wide variety of goods finding a ready sale. As a result of the sale a sum of £32 3s lid was raised towards the school’s funds. Prizes’ were won as follow: —Decorated cake (donated by Mr McPherson). S. Watt; bed jacket (donated by Mrs Arthur), Mrs R. Cain, 18 Dixon Street. In the weight-guessing competition for a decorated cake donated by Mrs Millward, three guessed the correct weight, 4!jlbs., Mesdames Fly and Goff and Miss Sampson. In a draw to decide the winner Miss Sampson won. Thanks were expressed to the Parents’ Association for its fine work and to the parents themselves for their generous response. Very much credit Was due to the able assistance given throughout the day by Mesdames Dagg, Donovan. Fly, Jones and Davis.
