RECRUITS WANTED
MASTERTON .TERRITORIAL FORCES. TOTAL OF 31 REQUIRED. Thirty-one recruits are needed in Masterton to bring the Territorial forces up to their increased strength under the reorganisation scheme recently decided upon. No difficulty is expected to get the necessary men and at the present rate of recruiting in Masterton the number required should be forthcoming by the end of next week. The aim is to get men who are willing and able to go into camp for a fortnight's training or possibly a slightly shorter period. The men wanted for Mastertoh are 19 recruits for the infantry (light automatic section) ' bringing the strength up to 48: three for the machine-gun platoon, making the total 31 and nine transport motor drivers, to be attached to the infantry platoons. The men needed as transport drivers are those accustomed to driving transport lorries. The formation of the section is a new departure as far as the local forces are concerned. The mounted rifle section has now been filled.
