COURSING

WAIRARAPA CLUB’S MEETING. TWO EVENTS TO BE DECIDED. Saturday’s coursing meeting commencing at 1.45 p.m. will consist of two stakes, and nominations at present are finite satisfactory. A good afternoon’s entertainment is assured. Apart from the high-class dogs contesting the Open Stake for the Physick Cup. several new dogs will be seen out in the Maiden event. These dogs have run consistently at the greyhound racing meetings held through the summer months, and will no doub provide some even contests on the plumpton. A good performer on the tracks as a puppy is Mr L. H. Jones’s Flying Joe. This is a dog which on appearances will be more at home in the natural game. Mr W. Mosen has a likely prospect in White Legion. This is a big upstanding dog, whose long stride should be an advantage on fast hares. Mr J. Hanley has a nomination with Black Magic, a full brothei to Julius Caecar (perhaps the mos' promising puppy seen out this year) Black Magic may be just as good as up to the present he is untried. Butcher Bros.’ Rerenoa, another son ol Rereatu, showed good speed on the 'tracks. This dog will also be having his first run on a plumpton and shoulc go well. Nominations close tonight at C o’clock. The draw will take place a 8.30 p.m. on Thursday at the Y.M.C.A A meeting of the executive will be helc it 7 p.m. to finalise matters for Saturday. .
