CRIPPLED CHILDREN

WAIRARAPA BRANCH MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. THIRTY-TWO NEW MEMBERS ELECTED. Thirty-two new members were elected at a meeting of the Executive of the Wairarapa Branch of the New Zealand Crippled Children Society held on Monday afternoon. Mr E. M. Hodder occupied the chair. Matthews. G. S. Sharp. E. M. Wakcly, D. Robertson, E. S. Anderson, Messrs G. W. Sellar. J. S. Dagg. L. S. Nicol. H. H. Beales. T. Clarke, S. Gilding, W. I. Armstrong, A. H. Daniell, N. T. B. W. Beetham. A. Forsberg. H. Thomas. C. E. Rogers. T. A. Russell, A. L. Hibbs, S. E. Burridge, S. Jenkins, F. S. H. Bolton. R. Lee. Donations are gratefully acknowledged from Messrs E. W. Cheetham, F. H. Dunderdale, W. I. Armstrong, Mrs M. M. Dunderdale, the Eketahuna Borough Council, Carterton Borough Council, and Wairarapa Electric Power Board. It was resolved to write thanking the Trust Lands Trust for allocating a grant of £25 to the society. Twenty-four cases are under review. It was reported that a boy who had been operated on at the Hospital is now home again and progressing well. Private tuition had been arranged for a crippled girl. A report from herteacher shows that an improvement has taken place in her condition. Arrangements have been made for two children to be sent to Hospital while another has been sent to Wei ■ lington for examination by a specialist. Endeavours are to be made to obtain employment for a youth who has had a secondary school education. Any employer who has a vacancy on his staff is asked to communicate with the secretaries. Particulars of a girl who had removed to Christchurch has been sent to the Welfare Officer in that city and arrangements for examination by a doctor had been completed.
