I ADVISED TO HEED BRITISH WARNING LONDON PRESS COMMENT. UNITED RESISTANCE TO AGGRESSION. By Telegraph—Press association—Copyright LONDON. June 26. “The Times" expresses the hope that Germany and Japan will take to heart Mr Chamberlain's words in Cardiff. It adds: "It will be a world-wide catastrophe if his and Lord Halifax's repeated warnings are ignored until proof is given in action that no British Government can tolerate without reprisals scandalous treatment of its subjects in foreign territory." The “Daily Telegraph" assures the Government that it has a united country behind it in its determination to resist aggression and domination. Mr Chamberlain, speaking in Cardiff on Saturday, outlined the formidable new scope of Britain's defence forces. After denouncing the influences by which “the future of Europe is being poisoned by the propagation of false and unfounded suspicions," he said, “every country needs goods and equipment such as the English and German industries particularly unable to supply, but such a future must remain a dream till Germany is ready to drop her unjust suspicions of othe: and shows that she is sincerely ready to talk reason with reasonable people."
On.the tension in the Far East, the Prime Minister said, “I am bound to add that no British Government can submit to dictation from another Power concerning foreign policy. I trust we are correct in supposing that there is no such intention in Japan's mind."
