After the worst storm she had experienced in Australian waters since entering the trade in 1925. the liner Oronsay reached Fremantle with many visible signs of a severe buffeting in the Great Australian Bight. Ventilators were stripped from the forecastle head, railings twisted, the forepeak flooded and parts of the crews quarters were awash.
