THIRD MEETING OF SEASON.

WAIRARAPA CLUB'S MEETING

Another meeting will be held by the Wairarapa Coursing Club on Saturday when one of the most valued trophies will be completed for in the 16 dog open stake. The trophy is a handsome silver cup donated by Mi J R. Physick. It has been competed for since 1929, to be won three times. At the present juncture this cup is greatly sought after by owners and trainers as some of the most noteworthy men connected with the sport have their names engraved on the trophy. Mr W. L. Jensen, of Carterton, has won the event twice and will be a strong contender on Saturday with Helen Rufus and Snowdrift. The former is a daughter of a previous winner. Silver Hope, a greyhound of great speed and endurance which also is the claim of that great courser and track performer Rereatu. Maybe blood will tell once again and Mr Jensen will have the good fortune to win (his trophy outright. Another competitor who will provide stern opposition is Mr D. Wilson's Big Ben. which lowered the colours at the first meeting of the season of that brilliant speedster The Clipper. Big Ben is both fast and a clever worker.
