ODD FELLOWS’ LODGE

PLAIN AND FANCY DRESS DANCE. AN ENJOYABLE GATHERING. A plain and fancy dress dance was' held by the Masterton Odd Fellows’ Lodge in the Odd Fellows’ Hall last night. There was a large attendance of children and adults and a most enjoyable time was spent. The ar-rangements-were complete in every detail, thanks to the excellent work of the committee, Bro. L. Morris (superintendent), . Sisters M. Prout, R. Morris, and Alma Davey (secretary). The judges were Sisters B. Brader and J. .Harris and Bro. R. Farrow (Eketahuna). Bro. Farrow supplied the music for the dancing.

The prize-winners were as follow: Girls under 10 years: Tui Morris (Victorian Posy), 1; boys under 10 years, Bobby Percy (Policeman); girls over 10 years, Gwen Wishart (Japanese Lady); boys over 10 years, Lennie Lee (Black Mammy).. Ladies: M. Prout Alexanda’s Rag-Time Band). Men: R. Baikie (Bridegroom).Special prize'(girl), M. Edwards (Granose).

The ritual shield which was presented by Bro. R. Farrow,- of the Wellington district management committee, was handed to Sister Norma Brown, 1.P.N.G., on behalf of the juvenile lodge which won the shield. The recipient suitably replied. Bro. and Sister Morris, who are leaving on a trip to Australia next week, were wished a pleasant time and «, successful return home.
