“IT WAS TREMENDOUS”
THEIR MAJESTIES’ WELCOME IN CANADA. NEW ZEALANDER’S IMPRESSIONS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, June 25. “It was tremendous,” said Mr J. N. Greenland, manager of the Union Steam Ship Company, _ who returned by the Monowai, describing the welcome to the King and Queen at Montreal, at the beginning of their Canadian tour. As one of a huge crowd .in the streets, and later at the Montreal banquet, Mr Greenland received close-, up impressions of the enthusiasm of the Canadian people. He continued. “I have never seen anything like it and I don't think Canada could have done more to demonstrate its loyalty and affection. The warmth of the greeting was spontaneous and universal.” Mr and Mrs Greenland were among a thousand guests at the banquet. As their Majesties passed through the lounge, everyone was impressed by their charm of manner. They were very popular throughout their visit.
