CRASH INTO BRIDGE

MOTOR ACCIDENT NEAR OPUNAKE WOMAN FATALLY INJURED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH. June 25. Head injuries, from which she died later, were received by Miss Lillian Marie Doyle, aged 21.‘daughter of Mrs Bridget Doyle. Warea. when a sedan car. driven by Miss Eileen Doody, crashed into the Heimana Stream bridge, a mile north of Opunake, about. 4 p.m. on Saturday. The driver and two other occupants of the car were injured, but not seriously. Miss Ann Doyle received extensive facial injuries, and a fracture of the left forearm; Miss Hannah Doody, extensive facial injuries; and Miss Eileen Doody, superficial abrasions.

The Misses Doody were sisters, and .he Misses Doyle, cousins.

Heavy rain had fallen shortly before and left the road surface greasy, as a result of which the car appears to have skidded at the top of- the approach to the bridge.
