CHESS SOCIAL
PROPOSA.LS TO REVIVE CLUB. About thirty players from various parts of the district attended the chess social in the Masterton Trades Hall on Saturday evening and spent a most enjoyable time. For the first part of the evening play took the form of a sides match, many interesting and strenuous games resulting. After supper, social games and “inquests” formed the chief diversion. At the conclusion of play a short meeting was held to discuss plans for the revival of the club, it being eventually decided to' meet again shortly and receive reports as to what was offering in the way of accommodation. Many offers of support were received and from present prospects the club should be in full session shortly.
