MORISON’S BUSH
FAREWELL SOCIAL WELL KNOWN RESIDENTS HONOURED. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Morison’s Bush Hall was packed last evening when a farewell social was tendered to Mr and Mrs H. Tilyard and Mr and Mrs J. R. McGarry, who are leaving the district. The music for the dancing was supplied by Te Tail's orchestra. Extras for the dancing were played by Mrs R. Beu and Mr Ray Ingley. The euchre tables were well filled. Mr Lauri Thompson presented Mr and Mrs McGarry and Mr and Mrs Tilyard with a fireside easy chair. In making the presentation Mr Thompson expressed regret that Morison’s Bush was losing such good residents. He expressed the hope, however, that they would enjoy many years of prosperity and good health in their new homes. In reply Messrs Tilyard and McGary thanked, the Morison's Bush residents for their gifts and both expressed regret at leaving. Mr O. A. Cadwallader, chairman of the Greytown Dairy Company, made a presentation of a case of pipes and a travelling rug as a small token of the twenty years of service Mr Tilyard had given to the factory. Mr Cadwallader stated that the district as a whole was indebted to Mr Tilyard who had been a director of the Dairy Co for many years, and also served as chairman for some years. Mr Cadwallader also w*shed Mr McGarry and Mr W. Gordon every success in their future spheres. Mrs Lauri Thompson, presented Mrs McGarry and Mrs Tilyard with a beau-, tiful posy each. A happy gathering was brought to a close with the singing of the National Anthem and “Auld Lang Sync-.”
