According to shipping journals from England two ships well known in New Zealand waters have been sold to British buyers. They are the steamers Canadian Challenger and Canadian Constructor. The price for the two vessels is reported to be £45,000. They were both owned by the Montreal Australia New Zealand Line, Ltd. The Canadian Challenger was built in 1921 by the Davie S.B. and Repairing Company, Levis, Quebec, and is of 5439 tons. The Canadian Constructor was built by Halifax Shipyards, Ltd.. Halifax, in 1922, and is of 7178 tons. It is believed that the Canadian Cruiser, built at the same yard as the Canadian Constructor in 1921 and of the same tonnage, is also to be disposed of.
