COURSING
WAIRARAPA CLUB. PHYSIC CUP MEETING. At a recent meeting of the executive of the Wairarapa Coursing Club it was decided to conduct coursing meetings every fortnight, commencing with the Physic Cup on Saturday. July 1. Nominations have been called for 16 dogs for the cup and 8 dogs for the maiden event. Owing to the response received from maiden dog-owners, it has been decided to increase the stake to 16. This, coupled with a full card in the open stake should provide the largest meeting of high class dogs for the season. The hares on the Plumpton are in splendid order and condition, mainly owing to the natural food growing in the “home" enclosure and regular schooling and training. Owners desirous of competing at the Waterloo fixture at Hastings in August would be well advised to give their charges a tryout at this meeting as dogs of a high standard will no doubt be competing. Nominations close on Wednesday next, June 28, at 6 p.m. with the secretary.
