MINIATURE RIFLES
MASTERTON BEAT CARTERTON. A AND B GRADE MATCHES. (“Times-Age” Special.) An inter-club teams match, between the Masterton and Carterton Miniature Rifle Clubs, fired on the Carterton range last night, resulted in a win for the Masterton A team by 5 points, while the Masterton B team won by 24 points. Details are:— Masterton A: B. R. Jenkins, Mrs King, 100; H. King, J. W. Curtin, H. K. Smith, 99; Hope Cross, P. Russell, J. Duckett, 98; D. P. Donald, 97; F. Seward, 92; total, 980. Carterton A: R. Taucher, 100; R. Porter, Miss Fisher, A. J. King, 99; G. Sewell, 98; R. Hawker, N. F. Teal, 97; L. De Lacey, S. Dwane, 96; D. Gayfer, 94; total, ‘75. Masterton B: W. Dornan, 100; V. E. Donald, H. V. Donald, L. Renall, 99; I. Sutherland, 97; total, 494. \ Carterton: E. Jones, 99; J. Duffy, 96; Miss McPhee, 95; G. Goodin, 92; L. Chew, 88; total, 470. The visitors were entertained at supper after the match when felicitous speeches by the captains of the respective clubs were made and cheers exchanged.
